or here http://www.flickr.com/photos/omahaya...57601204558931 It is not just making it, its about when you go fishing with it, you cast it and the retrive and you see how well it plays, the best part is if you get fish with it.. __________________ "Give man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.." Another bait I remember from years ago is 'creed' wheat. Just before you set off to go fishing, put a small handful of wheat (chicken feed) into a flask and then fill with boiling water. When you're ready to start fishing the wheat will have absorbed all the water and swollen a hell of a lot. Makes brilliant hookbait for roach and bream. |

| Re: Cheap baits Forgot to mention that I get my stale bread for nothing from the corner shop, first thing. I've also caught on any 'past sell by' fish in FW and the sea. Salmon trimmings are red hot. Spam is a really good one and I've had up to 10 carp runs per 4 hour session when others using expensive baits have failed. I usually cast out to a likely spot with a hair rigged bait to 2" square and then feed around it with a few 1/2" sq pieces every 10 mins or so in a very tight pattern by catapult. I've had good eels and pike on spam too, along with bream and roach. Kipper trimmings are good for pike and eels too. |

| Re: Cheap baits Breadpaste is a cheap bait. It can be flavoured with anything, such as curry powder, custard powder, oxo, indeed anything. It can, also, be coloured using any food dye. Try using artifical baits eg maggot, caster, worm. Once the initial cost is covered ( (£1.50 pkt), they cost nothing and can be used over and over again. THEY DO WORK! |
