Re: any success with chick peas I've used them with some good sucess, catch some big carp on them. Another cheap bait is Borlotti beans which were a bit of a secret bait I was using with another bloke on Reepham last year and we were slaughtering it. The most I had was 21 carp in a day, all on freelined beans ![]() __________________ Dan `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ Big or small, look after them all! ¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º>

Re: any success with chick peas the article you are referring to must have been in the anglers mail, the article is spot on,it is a very underrated bait ,the most important thing is to soak them before you use them otherwise they will swell up in the fishes stomach. i have had good carp, tench and even a couple of stonking roach using them. a bait i would recommend to all.

Hi I tried them this morning for the first time, I bought supermarket canned chick peas amd mixed them with garlic in oil to flavour them. I found that any hook greater then a size 10 caused the peas to split easily when attatched. They proved to be the best bait used during the session, the carp were generally smaller then those caught on halibut pellets, but I had 11 carp from 1lb-8lbs and will be using them again for sure. Cheers Andy

Re: any success with chick peas Chickpeas are banned on our club lake. I've heard they're a little TOO effective during matches hence an unfair advantage Rob
