Re: Fruit baits

Just because 1 bloke didn't catch on grape doesn't mean it won't work.

I think they will work

Starburst are a good bait for carp!

Re: Fruit baits

I was watching the fishing programs on Discover H&L and one bait matt hayes tried was strawberries! They had a underwater camera shot of the bait and the carp were goin silly. I often use strwaberry flavour lunchen meat and sweetcorn so i am defintly giving strawberries a go.

I know its not fruit but i find that prawns, musscles and cockles work well.

Re: Fruit baits

Yeah, cork's a good floating bait, looks like a dog biscuit.

Carp were taking strawberries off the top where I was fishing today

Re: Fruit baits

hey guys. I was reading through and saw steve wanted to know about using two hooks on one carp rig. I do this when ever I fish for carp, but I always use a different bait on each hook. It helps me find what the fish are biting on in a hurry and I have not ever double hooked a carp this way in 20 years of doing it. When I icefish for smelt we double hook all the time with the same baits on both hooks.
