I dont think the missus would like it if they all turned into flys lol Joe __________________ Sea 2012- 5brd rockling, whiting, LS Dogfish,Bass,Eel,Flounder F/W 2012- Catfish(16.5lb), Carp,Tench LITTER IS JUST LAZINESS!! |

Re: Maggot storage joe, you need to put them in cat litter type tray, and leave the lid off, and sprinkle with sawdust. when your next going fishing, remove from fridge, put them onto a riddle, remove all sawdust/skins/dead, then apply fresh maize meal allow to warm up and sweat off, riddle again, then put into bait box with fresh maize meal. perfect bait __________________ good luck and tight lines chris lifes to short for animosity.

Re: Maggot storage sorry forgot to add if you put them in the fridge in the bait box, with the lid on, after the heat they will sweat, and be able to escape from the box, you could end up with maggots crawling everywhere. __________________ good luck and tight lines chris lifes to short for animosity.

Re: Maggot storage same as chris i clean them with cornmeal though and use a sealed container with holes in top its called a biscuit tin lol riddle them through before u use them should be nice and fresh then ive kept em for 2 weeks like this bisquit tin harder to open so if missy drops it on the dek the lid dont come off like with maggi box

Re: Maggot storage i had a fridge in the shed, purely for baits, some match fishing venues needed a lot of maggots, used to buy a gallon at a time, so needed to be able to tend them, otherwise very costly, also able to sift and gather the casters as they turned. __________________ good luck and tight lines chris lifes to short for animosity.
