| feeder advice HI all I had a great days fishing yesterday probably one of my most prolific days fishing ever i was fishing using a flat inline feeder with dampened pellets and a quiver tip rod for the first time ever and was getting a bite a chuck from 7 am till 5pm but i only managed to hook 1 in three bites although i probably cought at least 50 bream ranging from skimmers to 5lb can anyone tell me how to make sure i turn more strikes into banked fish I was using 8lb mainline to a small inline feeder with 5lb hooklength around 6 inches long although i did shorten to 4 thinking this may help hook more i was dampening my pellets and laying my hook and bait in the middle plus putting some more on top to cover the hook on the end of my hook would be either a a hair rigged mini boillie or single 8 mm pellet hair rigged on any advice would be appreciated? by the way i was at Staunton Court lake in Gloucestershire for anyone interested a lot of bream but have got some ok carp (also caught my new pb carp yesterday aswell!) very nice little lake although it gets quite busy. |

| Re: feeder advice Maybe the Bream were picking at your feeder or brushing against your line causing false bites? or your hooklength was too short, or your hair too long causing the bait to be dragged from between their lips as they competed for your bait? or was your hook point masked or not quite sharp as it could be? Still what a wonderful days fishing you had, sounds like a great fishery. Congrats on your PB Carp as well. ![]() __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now) |
