| Method feeder The method feeder is used in many types of freshwater fishing from carp to tench to bream. They come in different sizes, the standard being 14- 16 grams. The prices seem to range from £1 - £5 depending on size and quality of it. The idea is to get balls of groundbait right next to your hookbait, every cast. It's becoming extremely popular around the country and lots of fish are falling to it. The method feeder is basically a lead weight with a frame around it, which you attatch groundbait too. ![]() ![]() Using it: They come in various different sizes and you may need a strong rod to cope with the weight. Firstly, you need to mix your groundbait up. ![]() Next, mould this around your method feeder. TIP: Don't make the ball in any random shape, try to make it streamline and don't add to much as you'll lose some of it halfway during the cast. ![]() Next, with your bait on the hook, wrap the hooklength around the ball of groundbait and add a bit more groundbait to it. The idea to this is that as a fish hits at the groundbait, bits of bait fall off, the fish eats anything that falls off, 1 of these will be your hookbait. The weight of the method feeder should hook the fish straight away. It's a great way of catching fish! Good luck with it __________________ Dan `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ Big or small, look after them all! ¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º> Last edited by Norfolkboy; 02-22-2005 at 07:16 PM. |
