silver fish hi all i,ve been fishing on and off since i was 4 (i am 22 now) i first started with a bit of line on a garden cane with my dad for stickle backs in the local beck and i started to get into it more and more i think next step is to take up match fishing im trying to home in on silver fish, as these seem to get neglected as every 1 is carp mad !! is there any tips any 1 can give to help me on my way to catch bigger silver fish because as soon as my bait hits the water a small rud, skimmer or perch have my bait, is feeding little and often better or worse in this senario thank you and tight lines ![]()

Re: silver fish hello mate, you could try fishing deeper and weighting your line so that it drops past the little nuisance fish and gets deeper before they notice it or have chance to get it. or try ledgering which can produce some of the larger silver fish plus many others like tench and small carp. hope this helps __________________ If it was easy, it would be called catching. Now I may be an idiot, but there is one thing I am not, sir, and that, sir, is an idiot.....

Re: silver fish yes feeders seem to produce sum nice fish. i was more aiming my post at pole fishing and margin fishing so i think shotting my bait and fishing at the bottom of the swim would be best option for me thank you for your replys and tight lines

Re: silver fish What about using a whip, its not as heavy as a pole and can produce good nets at match's. __________________ Tight Lines (Ventis secundis, tene cursum)
