| How to prevent your line freezing to you rod rings BBRrrrrrr! It's cold enough to freeze the b***s off of a Brass Monkey. I'm going to settle down in front of the fire with a Brandy or two and a good fishing book and later I might spool up some new line on my reels. But if you are more hardy than me and are going to brave the cold then heres a simple tip for when your line starts to freeze in your rod rings. Just apply some Glycerine to the rod rings with a Cotton Bud before you thread the line through. tight lines now Wheres that book? and who's been drinking my Brandy?? ![]() __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now) |

| Re: How to prevent your line freezing to you rod rings A tip I will definately be using . Thanks. I'll be staying near the radiators for a week or two now though. No I won't , I'll get as far as next weekend then it'll be down to either Caunsall (if the canal is unfrozen) or the lower Severn. __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk |
