Hi, I use a quiver tip with running ledger rig which works fine most of the time however im not exactly sure when i should strike as i keep getting little knocks, but when i strike....No fish Lol. Obviously i can tell when i have a big fish as i get a positive bite (sometimes my rod even comes off its stand!) but these little knocks are really doing my head in as i am having to refill my feeder too often. Can anyone relate and help? Matty

Re: Running ledger rig I expect they are line bites, fish swimming around near your line or knocking your feeder nothing you can do about it. __________________ http://carp-forum.webs.com/

Re: Running ledger rig Maybe try a semi fixed systemm if you are after silvers so the weight of the lead sets the hook? tj

Re: Running ledger rig The culprits may be attacking and dislodging your feeder, to find out if this is true you could try a small hook and very short light hooklength banded close against your feeder; that may hook one of the culprits; or you could do away with the feeder altogether and just loose feed. __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now)

Re: Running ledger rig If it's driving you that nuts and happens dead quick, take the hook link off and just cast the feeder. That way you'll see what it is . You don't mention what fish you are after either, if it's bream sit on your hands and don't strike till the tip goes round. What state is your hookbait in when you reel it in? Are their crayfish in your water ? __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk
