Poundland crystal wagglers, a brush some cocktail sticks and paint. I intend to fish for crucian carp this summer so wanted some fine tip floats. After getting dragged in to poundland in the Mangy Hell centre I saw 5 crystal wagglers for a quid so bought a pack or three. Got them home , chooped off the tops and used one set with cocktail sticks in the tops painted black. Two sets with bristles I nicked from the broom in the garage. One yellow painted and one left as they are because the bristle is dark anyway. Next step is to put them in a bucket and shot them down to the base of the bristle. Them I add no 10s and mark it, then another and mark that. I suspect that'll sink the bristle tops anyway. Need to be extra sensitive for them crucians and the idea of the bristle is so accurately measure the depth so the the bait helps cock the float. Too shallow and the float doesn's sit right. Too deep and the float dissapears. I want it resting JUST on the bottom. __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk

Re: Poundland crystal wagglers, a brush some cocktail sticks and paint. thats along the lines of what i do with the driftbeaters....windbeaters.. (whatever they are called!) only i use just a tiny amount of the inner lead from leadcore....wrapped around a small piece of shrink tubing attached to the hook..... so that nothing but the hook weight cocks the float.... the theory being anything that touches the bait that float will move! its what we use locally for the mullet and it works wonders! i will take a pic or 2 of a hook tomorrow and post it here to try and show what im saying! __________________ fishing for fish is not as simple as you may think!

Re: Poundland crystal wagglers, a brush some cocktail sticks and paint. Mullet is nearly always on the Isle of Wight. Either Bembridge or Gurnard. Crucian Carp is going to be Himley Hall. IF I am ever coming down to Torquay though, that sounds like and offer I couldn't refuse, thanks. __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk
