Help needed for new equipment

Hi all,

I'm new to this site and have just started getting back into fishing. Haven't done it since I was a kid when I used to do a mixture of float and sea fishing.
Having just had a weekend at Wylands near Battle I've got right back into it and need some advice on equipment. I still have the old rods and reels I used but they are pretty basic and only suitable for smaller fish.

Can someone help me find some new gear? I am looking to fish primarily with floats in lakes around Kent and need something that is capable to land larger fish.

Excuse my 'noob-ish' ways but I need a new rod and compatible reel. Any suggestions are most welcome and very much appreciated.

Cheers

Cheers Nick, probably be looking to spend a few £100 to get some half decent gear. Ideally with the capacity to land as large as possible for my money - that way I won't have to upgrade again in the near future. My current equipment can only take a few lbs.

If there's anything in particular I should go for/avoid then it would be great if you could let me know. Or if there's any online deals which are too good to pass up!

Thanks again mate

Re: Help needed for new equipment

Garbolino squad pellet combo rod gives u the best of both as it has both a waggler and feeder top section and comes with 2 quiverr tips, best bet get 2!! Mach2 reels are worth a look reasonably priced and well built, landing net loads to choose from, landing net handles would go for Browning again reasonably priced. Also woth getting a copy of Angling Times or MAil and check the offers that dragon carp have on their Avanti gear, its not the best quality but is ok for starting out.
