My intro and a little help!

Hi,
Im new to the forum so thought I'd introduce myself and ask for a couple of pointers at the same time.
Im 26 male from romford essex and have recently rekindled an old love for fishing. I decided to kit myself out again for a spot of float fishing and Im just after some pointers about venues, kind of fish I should be after with the equiptment I have and maybe some useful links for some info (I will search the site for as much as poss)
Basically Ive kitted myself out with some cheap kit:
Shimano Alivio bx 390 13' match rod
Shimano alivio 2500 rb reel
Landing net
Assorted waggler floats
and a Comfy seat!
I was thinking along the lines of fishing some stillwater lakes/ponds and going for few roach, perch and maybe some small carp and tench. So does this sound resonable for what I have and any good basic techniques would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks again
Steve

Re: My intro and a little help!

Hi Steve. Welcome to the forum, and more importantly welcome back to angling.

I don't have any idea myself about freshwater kit, Last time I landed a carp was 1978 (15lb+ Long Bob ponds Preston. Now a housing estate). However, this is the right place to be for those who do
