good baits for perch???

i know worms are supposed to be a good bait for perch but does any one reccommend anything else? as i fancy havin a go for them on my local stillwater! any help bait and rig wise would be great as i have never really tried for them! also there are ALOT of silvers so wat can i do to try and avoid them? im a carper mainly but fancy havin a go for them!

Not to sure on the still water but a 2" to 3" dead bait works a treat. Either float it or free line it. Don't strike let the bite develops then reel into the fish. a little shad or spoon could also work.

make sure you have some good forceps, perch suck the bait in as they have a huge mouth for thier body size almost like a bass, ild use a size 10 hook with 5-10 maggots hooked up, this is cheap method and will catch some good size perch, but if you want some good sport try spinning for them.
