new to poles.. quick question on rigs

just looking for a bit of advice really.

recently bought a pole, only a cheap shakespeare get you started set up and it came with 2 rigs.

question is on the rigs there is loads of spare line so what is the best way of attaching the rig to the pole. as if i attach it via the normal method as i would a hook length on a normal set up with swivel, i will end up cutting the line and when i then remove it after fishing it will be shorter yet again and what if i need to lengthen it during the session if there cut i cant do this so is there a way of attaching it but keeping the line length etc that im missing here

thanks in advance for an y adivce or links to sites with advice

Re: new to poles.. quick question on rigs

they make sure theres plenty on there incase your using on a deep pool, i tend to attatch the rig as normal then set the float at the correct depth using a plummet then fetch the rig back in and cut the line at about 40cm above the float then tie a simple loop knot, always just the right length then and still have a bit of tolerance if you decide to fish a slightly deeper pool. hope this helps
