| Something bigger than Tiny ROACH! (Beginner help) HI alll, New member so just a quick hello before my first post- HELLO! From Kent/UK! Used to fish when I was a wee lad and was pretty much useless, last year my family got me some fishing gear for my birthday So i've started up again. I have 2 rods and reels, I think their nice quality. it wasent mega expensive but nither cheap argos brands kinda type. I also have a few weights, hooks, floats, feeders, shots etc. THe basic nessaties. Anway I fished last year in a pond thats maintained, it had loads stuff in it (think it's connected to a river) as it had Pike, Eeels etc etc. Only thing I seem to catch and plenty of though were Roach and small they were! AT first i was happy, loved the action and thrill of just catching anything, but after the 20th catch of a tiny Roach it gets a litle under whelming. I want to try catch a few bigger things, like pike or even better CARP!. What setup must I do, any advice? how I get it to start catching some more fun stuff? I did get a book and as great as it is, just don't give much information for the beginner. Any help is brillaint! Thanks |

Used bollies and a hair rig with size 8 hook. Man in tackle shop said it be spot on for carp. did not work, nor maggets or corn. So fed up. lol |
