| Cooking hemp with out stinking out the house Yet another useful tip. If you use hemp for fishing and like me can’t be bothered to boil away for hours stinking out the whole house, and finding the price of pre-cooked hemp on the expensive side. Try the following. Get hold of a cheap flask, something reasonably big, fill the flask just over half way with uncooked hemp, and put a very small amount of bicarbonate soda {tea spoon} into the flask. Then poor hot boiling water into the flask until the hemp is covered in water then seal. Leave for 12hours or so, normally I do mine the night before I go fishing. The following day you will have cooked hemp. I find that ½ a flask is enough for a days fishing. Golden rule: don’t use the flask for anything else, especially coffee or tea, it will taste foul. __________________ "The muscles of 20 men, and the brains of 20 mussels", |
