| Advice please............ Hello ..........I'm new here but I hoped to get some advice from you guys. I am looking to buy a feeder rod and don't know which are the best features or makes to look out for. Your ideas and advice will be greatly appreciated. Hi, what you need to look for in a good feeder rod is one that will cover most situations, whether it is fishing for roach or carp up to 5 or 6 lb, I would look for a multi tip rod, 3/4 oz tip to 2-3oz tips, look for one that covers these sizes. Look for a rod around 12ft. depending on how much you want to spend also comes into it. Don’t buy anything to heavy or you will find that you will loose fish. Drennan, Maver and Shakespear do good feeder rods, but it’s down to your own choice. But as I said a multi tip rod is the best way to go. They are normally marked up as a medium feeder. however if you are after carp as your main quarry then a rod like the porky pig or any heavy feeder rod are worth a look at, these too should have tips as well ranging from 2ozs to 4ozs. | Re: Advice please............ have a shakespeare mentor is a good rod and not expensive(but replacement tips arent available when you break one   but evil bay sells some universal ones ) just picked up today a 2nd hand(ex xmas pressie never used )heavier feeder ,Ron Thompson barbel rod at 1.3/4lb test with 3 tips at 2,3 and 4oz for carp fishing especially for floating dog bikkies and at the princely sum of £20 as well always worth a look in bargain bin  dave ps do like your avatar mmmmmmmmm __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk litter is lazyness 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day,coincidence or good planning |
