I am new to sea fishing and need a beach castor that is light, casts a 40z weight, uses a Penn 850 fixed spool reel and that is rigid enough so that the tip doesn't keep bending in th e breeze (as my cheapy does currently) |

| Re: Rod recommended Hi Wendy, welcome to the forum. I'm the last one's advise you'd want, (location-location-location) I'm SURE someone will be along shortly and fix you right up. Good luck and tight lines (Shakespeare Ugly Stiks: Cabela's -- Shakespeare Ugly Stik® Surf Rods and Bass Pro Shops: Fishing, Hunting, and Outdoor Gear ) __________________ A bad day fishing is better than a good day working! | Re: Rod recommended how much do you want too spend ? i would go for a 5oz-6oz cssting rate as a four would be too light for most shore work. the new pz match is good or a anyfish anywhere they are light. |

| Re: Rod recommended Hi Wendy, there are a number of rods that will suit you - if you are willing to pay £100 you will pick up a very goog rod for a beginner. My advice is that once you have decided which rod to buy, shop around. Look in the magazines and you will find the best deal. I wouldn't recommend you go to your local tackle shop to buy a new rod before you have done some research into how much they are available via mail order. By all means then go into your local shop and see if they can match it - as many tackle shops will charge you twice as much as the tackle shops who advertise in the magazines. In my experience the best mail order firms for rods and reels etc include: Gerrys of Morecambe Tony's Tackle (Eastbourne) Poingdestres (Southampton) THese are some that I have used but there are many more. Good luck __________________ ><((((((*> ><((((((*> ><((((((*> trailer cleaning |
