Angry Name & Shame.

Thought i'd start up a Name & Shame post on the Forum for those bits of tackle that don't make the grade or let you down at a crucial moment. Maybe if some of the tackle manufacturers read this, they may just sit up & take notice. I'm starting the ball rolling with these two items......

Item 1. MAP keepnet & luggage bag. Great design & layout. Unfortumately the zips are rubbish & broke before I even had a chance to use it. Not what you expect from a peice of top of the range match luggage.

Item 2. Keenets Powerhit telescopic carp landing net handle. The threaded insert where the landing net head screws into the handle came unbonded from the handle when I screwed the net head into the handle. Once again the first time it was used. Just glad I was'nt landing a large fish when it happened..... This is'nt the first time i've had problems with Keenets gear which is annoying as they are a local company & employer in this area.

Re: Name & Shame.

Someone told me that Keenets have gone bust, does anyone know if this is true?

Angry Re: Name & Shame.

Recently tried to order some spare spools for my TF Gear X5 3000 reels that I bought less than a year ago. According to Fish-Tec they are only available with a new reel. Pretty crap spares back-up & not what you expect from a company that's part of Air-flo. Think I shall stick to ABU & Orvis in future. You can get parts for their reels decades after buying one.

Met another guy fishing the local lake when I was pike fishing with Warmit last week & noticed he had a Keenets landing net handle the same as mine. Asked him how he had got on with it? His broke the first time he used it too.....

Is that when fishing or just a general kicking then?
