| Re: Name & Shame. But even a "clud" magazine I get...I joined "North American Fishing Club". ( http://www.nafc.com/ ) Each month, they give away kit to members to try-out and write a review. Anything from hooks to outboard motors (u keep what you review). The scale is 1 thru 5, and it really, REALLY, has to be a piece of $h!t to get less than a 3. PS Norman Speed Clips are complete and total cr@p!!! ![]() I like the idea so I tried, several times, to make them work. EVERY TIME I cast, the lure would sail away completely unhindered by my line....not just once but EVERY TIME!!! If I weren't on my float tube and had Lost all of those lures....![]() __________________ A bad day fishing is better than a good day working! | Re: Name & Shame. I've had some poor quality stuf from Badger, but they have also come through with a few gems, their stalking landingnet has been very good to me. THe extension works despite being left outside for some monthes. To be honest you generally get what you pay for, but when ordering by mail order its a bit of a lottery. One way to tell if your local tackle dealer is a good one is if he will let yuo open the bags to get a feel of a new line clip, or other item of terminal tackle, nowt worse then getting on the bank to discover that your new gizmo is a waste of space. tight lines, I'm getting withdrawl symptons, but my mad spell (work) will soon be over and I'll get on the bank YYYIIIIIIPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! ![]() |

Re: Name & Shame. abu 7000 c3 that have been made in tiewan are crap the free spool packs up on them regularly due to cheap plastic partsbut not to completly slag them off:- on the plus side sweden made ones are the god of reels also Ultima "Hard core" (my arse) line, its crap for knots and dont do what it said on the tin. i tryed the 80lb line for conger due to its "bite restant " qualitys. i had 3 conger on and lost all 3 due to bite offs , needless to say out came the 200lb line again __________________ http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...xt80382370.gif

Re: Name & Shame. no they are marketed as 7000 c3, the way to tell the good ones from the crap is the side plate, if it has made in sweden stamped in to it its a good un , if it says ambassadeur instead its the tiewan made ones __________________ http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...xt80382370.gif

Re: Name & Shame. abu 7's............black plas' side plates, i dunno where they were made but they're not a patch on the original red swedish 7000. level line and spool release fails as internals just seem to be of poorer quality. (the spools run on bushes and not bareings, like early millionaires 3h/ 6hm etc. if memory serves,) dad had 2...they died within 3 years. 7000's lasted 10years of the same sort of abuse. __________________ 2008, sessions..18 total blanks..2, species,..15, its easier for a man to destroy the light within himself than to defeat the darkness all around him.

Re: Name & Shame. I bought a 7500 cs recently, sweedish parts assembled in the far east, so I'm told by the tackle shop as soon as the weather breaks I'll give it a fair test and report back.John __________________ Poor prep= Pathetic Performance
