Back to the thread, has anyone had a good Abu reel since they were made in the far east?

I use daiwa tournament line now and will stick with that.

Come on mate read all of my post. I have had trouble with F1 as well, just not as strong as it should be and breaking for no reason whilst nearly new. See what I done was tell you that I won't use any of their lines now as I have had trouble from a few, especially the Red Ice.

Still if your happy to use thats fine by me, you just won't see it on any of my reels from now on.

Im happy with my Mag Elite that I got from Gerrys for £69.99, I think that was made in the far east but im not sure. Just wish I had waited a week as Poingdestres had Florida Oranges Mag Elites for around £80!

I knew it wasn't just the two that i went through, absolutely pile of sh1te! I had one blow over on the sand that resulted in the rod support arm bending almost in half, and another where the plastic slidey bit (sorry can't be more techy) just snapped! Went back and swapped for an Ian Golds which has been good, but just bought one of the new spangly Salt Tripods 'cos i is a tart!

What made me laugh about these tripods was the rave review that one of the fishing magazines gave these! But then I've never seen a bad review given to any kit in any of them . . . strange that

Thumbs down Re: Name & Shame.

I thought I had made the biggest mistake in sending my 13 year old lad in to pick up some ragworm (½ lb) from a supplier in Brixham as my usual shop in Paignton had sold out.
When unwrapped the very next morning the whole lot was unusable. If you tried to lift a jelly like worm from the rest of the mush, it just fell apart. The damn things were even foaming!
OK I was well hacked off but, I put it down to the fact that the lad went in for it, and being just a lad, they saw fit to palm him off. Zero consolation for a 20 mile trip down to Hallsands at 4 in the morning, only to discover that!

But that wasn’t it!!

I went in myself a fortnight after and had the same result.

What got to me is that they do know me so why do that to someone who buys from you at lease a dozen times a year. Ok, no where near as much as my regular store but hell. Why rip you off?

One thing is for certain. They get no more money from me.

Kiwi.
