Shakespeare seat boxes

For anyone whos got one is the £35 one worth the extra money over the beta one which is £20/25?

Looking into gettin one and dont see much difference apart from the extra clip and the size

Thumbs up Re: Shakespeare seat boxes

I own both Steve. I bought the larger one for coarse fishing (Match Angling) back in about 1980 & it's still going strong. Bought a Beta box for sea fishing last year & it's an ideal size. Problem is the bigger the box, the more gear that you try to cram into it (most of it un-necessary). Not a good idea when climbing down some cornish cliff to a local hotspot. It was never a problem when coarse fishing as I used a trolly. Would definately reccomend the Beta for sea fishing.

Re: Shakespeare seat boxes

Hi Steve,

I have got to agree 100% with Greenheart on this one. There are quite a few accessories that can be added to the Beta Box that are well worth investigating, and if you are so inclined they are also very easy to customise.

Regards

Drew

Re: Shakespeare seat boxes

Hi steve ,
i have the shakespear match seat box,
and trust me stick to the beta ,
i will be owing 1 pretty soon lol ,
it seems the more space you have the more you cram in !!!!!!!!,
and its like walking to a venue like a donkey with a broken back !!!!!,
but first im going to try the conversion kit to make the seat box into a back pack type carrying posistion, and also gives a back rest to the seat !!!!!!,
i will let you know how i get on !!!!!,
your probally still better off going for the beta though !!!

cheers lee.

Been thinking about getting a conversion kit for mine too. Let me know how you get on with it. Be interested to hear from anyone else who has one too.

Re: Shakespeare seat boxes

I fitted the backrest conversion to my beta box 2 years ago and I love it. Has 2 sturdy shoulder straps so you can carry the seatbox like a rucksack. Cost about £35 I think.

Re: Shakespeare seat boxes

conversion is a great bit of kit, you dont really uae as a backrest but really makes carrying easier

not sure i would use for long distance though
