Torch - Not the usual suspect

I received one of these wind up torches for christmas and since my parents have also each bought one for their cars.

I use mine solely for fishing and it's great for a good price.
It's a 5-in-1 torch basically with:
  • 4 LED white light
  • 1 central red LED light ideal for signalling
  • FM radio
  • Personal alarm
  • Phone/Camera charger

The torch is totally battery free and requires a simple wind up of the dynamo crank to generate more power.

Main uses broken down:

White light: With 4 LED's, the 'white light' is the main source of light coming from the torch. It is very bright and just as good as other battery powered items. The LED 's power is 20,000 MCD

Red light: The one central red LED obviously isn't as strong as the sole light but is mainly used for signalling and perfecr for fishing if you're looking for something quickly, but don't want to shine a bright light in fear of spooking fish/waking up fellow anglers etc..

FM Radio: With an easy to use on/off switch it makes listening to the radio very easy. There are scan and reset buttons to the right side of the torch which make it easy to tune into radio stations and also a handy aerial to make tuning that bit better.

Personal alarm: If ever in trouble this is a great thing to have. When turned on an ear piercing "siren" is let out from the torch. I'm sure it can be heard a long way away.

Phone/Camera chargers: The torch also comes with 5 different camera or phone chargers. It is compatible with Nokia, Sony Ericsson and samsung phones. Very handy if out camping or fishing for a while.

Advantages:
Good lighting
Re-chargable easily with a simple wind of the handle
FM radio
Personal alarm
Camera/Phone charger
No heavier than a torch with big batteries

Disadvantages:
Not the smallest of torches, so hard to fit in certain pockets
FM Radio switch could break easily if pushed in too far
Not the lightest of torches, though not overyl heavy

Price: RRP: £19.99 - 24.99

Usabillity: 5/5
Reliability: 4/5
Build Quality: 3-4/5

Overall: 4/5

Would I reccomend it? Yes!!!

Re: Torch - Not the usual suspect

Lol i got the same torch as you cuckoo, the only thing that is a little bit bad of it is the fact you have to wind it up, just for the light to come on for 2 minuites.and when you wind it up, turn it on, then turn it off the light is still on but only dimly.
