fox frontier bivvy

now i have had my frontier bivvy for two years now so it had a really good work out .
although the frontier with out the winter skin on is well designed and is good enough to be used on its own i have to say i think the winter overrap was designed on a friday afternoon .

ok the frontier is a pram hood design with lockable joints once peg out it will with stand good strong winds with out movement now once the over rap is on and pegged out again it does not look to bad but hads to be set up on even ground or the troubles start firstly the overrap does not fully go all the way over anfd at the back its a good six inches of the floor and the pegging point elastics are under alot of strain and as it warms this exspands stressing it now going totaly the other way when it cools the canopy above the porch goes slack and when it rain hard this does fill with a lot of wter again putting alot of strain on the bivvy to over come this i personal have a spare pole which i exstend up in the middle of the porch this now allows the water to run off but impededs your exit . also as it get under strain in the heat the pegging points do come unstitched .
all in all its spacious with winterrap on but does let its self down with a lack of thinking that went into its overrap design .
i give it 6 out of 10
but i would not buy another one and will be changing it to the armodillo by trakker
