talon

i have just got a new reel clamp called the talon,
they are superb twice as good as costers they also have a trigger like device, too get your index finger round.
they are made out of two 1-1.5INch bars and 2plastic coated wires wich hold the reel, there are 2 stainless steel like nuts with a wing type bolt wich locks it on to your rod.once on your rod your reel dose move great for all types of reels. only down fall they are abit pricey at 15 quid.

Re: talon

I use them to Rich and like you love them but a lot of people dont due to the wire fraying and poking out, also be carefull not to over tighten them.
I was just sick to death of the plastic knob coming off my coasters

Re: talon

Try the Abu griplok. These are not prone to slipping and thus causing damage to the rod butt as the Talon is.

Re: talon

Mine needed to be tightened right up when I first got it and even then would still shift a bit on the rod but it only took a couple of minutes to add a single layer of shrink tube to the butt and now it's a perfect fit.

Re: talon

greys do their own reel lock, its like the abu grip lock but its not as bulky,
works well but you still have too tghten it up v.tight too make it lock.

Thumbs up Re: talon

I had no end of hassle with the coasters slipping on my ABU ambassadeur zoom rod so I decided to get an ABU griplock. Problem is ABU don't do a griplock to fit the ABU zoom rod . Solved the problem using a couple of layers of shrink tube. Definately better than coasters.
