old vintage lures

can any body tell me any thing about these lures i was given a box of old tackle and these were in a container i know the middle one is by
hardy bros of alnwick



any infomation would be appreciated

Any lure that lasts more than 3 sessions is a vintage lure for me :-)

i might be wrong bm but the spinners look like mepps to me,i remember losing one and being close to tears about 30 years ago,i was my old faithful,i think i had my first twenty on one

I think they're trolling lures for salmon, not certain but maybe.

Whenever you buy a lure, I think its best to just consider it lost when you pick it out.

So I take it you have never waded in to try and recover it? Did a couple times, cuz it broke off where it was only between my knees and waist. Don't plan on doing that again! Sometimes you get lucky, and the current spits 'em out

yeah I'm sure they are old salmon lures. got a few myself, some have red feathers attached and I think they all had them originally as some of mine still have traces of cotton whipping but no feathers left.
My old Grandfather said they used to attach worms to them sometimes as well, crafty old b*gger, in case there were trout about and no salmon. Never heard of anyone else using worms for trout but I guess they eat them if available like any predator thats hungry. thats the trout not grandfathers.

They are Salmon Lures and the larger ones are for trolling.
