Shimano Aero GTE 6000B

Shimano Aero GTE 6000B

I've been using these reels over the past year for Piking and Carping. I've found them to be very smooth and handle fish well when playing them. The prices vary but I got mine for £60 and think that's a great price for such a great reel. In my opinion I won't be needing another reel for a long time, due to the magnificent quality. A spare spool is included with the package. It has a baitrunner facility the drags are positioned efficiently for easy tensioning during a fight.

Technical side of things

Gear ratio: 4:5:1
4 A-RB stainless steel ball bearing + 1 roller bearing
Cold forged aluminium spool
Dyna-balance system
Long-nosed tapered spool
Long life bail spring
Internal bail trip
Left & right hand wind
Powerful, smooth and precise read drag
Line capacity (yds:lb): 265 yards : 12lb

Overall
If you're after a good quality reel that will last for years then this is the reel for you. You may want the 8000B or 10000B if you're after more line capacity. Not badly priced and a very nice reel to use.

Rating
Build quality: 5/5
Usability: 5/5
Price 4/5

Overall: 5/5

Recommended?: YES!
