zziplex 3500

quick review of a zziplex 3500
had it quite a while and have been very impressed
it is 13ft long and a very thin light blank with lots of power to it but with a nice tip, this rod is not ideal for an unexperience caster though and takes a little while to get used to
this is desinged for pendulum caster but works fairly well for most types of caster
it is a clean ground/mixed rod which would make a very good match rod due to its great bite detection, you get a very strange bite out of it but it is quite visible
the only downside being the longer than normal tip, but this is not as much of a problem as some rods
this is a lovely rod and is at home on most beach's or even the casting field
worth that little bit extra money if you are seriouse about fishing

Re: zziplex 3500

What do you think about it compared to your 2500.
I have a 2500 and a 4500. I can only now make the 4500 work for me after 2 years. I found it just a bit too stiff for a while, but now that I have used it a lot it has softened up and I can get much more distance out of it. I found on the cating field I had to change my casting style quite dramatically as the rod was fighting me.

Re: zziplex 3500

the 2500 is an easy gpong rod to cast with, more practice is needed with the 3500 due to the harsher action but can get more distance once used to it
i suspect it will be more like your 4500 than the 2500
are you thinking of getting 1 then?

Re: zziplex 3500

The 2500 was one of the best zziplex rods made in the late eighties along with the Quartro(dont know the spelling )and the dream machine.
The 3500 was a step up from another rod not the 2500 whereas the 4500 is a step up from the 3500 and is a more powerfull casting rod, although i wouldnt think theres many that can get 100% out of a 3500.
Theres been a lot of 2500s apearing on ebay recently advertised as collecters items.
