The Zebco Stingray is a very basic lightweight and very portable spincasting combo that is well suited for freshwater fishing when there are no plans of taking anything big. It can be a wonderful rod for a beginner or casual fisherman- in addition to going anywhere. It is very easy to operate, the reel is sort of ceap being plastic- though I believe that I can replace it with another Spincasting that are available at any big box store for very little money. Mine was used when I bought it and unfortunately I believe they are discontinued. the date on mine is 1989. It was obtained at a flea market for $5 and came with a bobber, 2 artifical bait, rod (telescopes from appx 15 inches to 5 feet), reel, and a hard plastic travel case. The rod was made in Korea and I believe the reel is from the USA! Despite this being the cheap thing that it is, it sees more use than my better, more expensive rods due to its portability- just grab 'n go. I know that while this is in all likliieness discontinued, I am posting about this because chances are there is a lot of them out there- so you very wel may run into one. I love mine and believe that it was well worth the $5- though I don't hink i would have paid more than $10. As I was writng this post I discovered the tackle holder section in the top. Neat! Five stars!
I will post pix when I figure out how to!
