Shakespeare omni x F50 reel

Not sure if this is the correct section but i'll ask away.

Great reel, smooth and nice to use but i found my line on the spool become very lose and gets caught under the spool bottom on casting.

Any idea why?

Also whilst taking the spool off there is a tiny spring inside that keeping unhooking itself, i cant see any difference when its attached or not???

Any advice would be great.

Cheers

Andy

Line problem might be due to line quality - some lines are very prone to "coiling" and come off the spool when not under tension. What line are you using?

That spring is probably part of the clicker mechanism on the drag,it makes the noise as the spool is turning against the drag when a fish is taking line and as such is not an essential part of the reel.

Hi, the line is shakespeare 3lb black line, yes your right it coils very badly?

Im gonna check to see if i can attached the spring again but if its not essential then i wont worry.

Re: Shakespeare omni x F50 reel

interesting you say 'like wire' - the wire like line im struggling with in 2lb, i bought some new 6lb line today and it really nice thin line, why is heavier line thinner in this case. weird

i'll check out the reel you suggested dude, cheers
