Garbolino 10' Rocket Picker

Yesterday I bought a 10' Garbolino rocket picker feeder rod. Looked a really nice rod with a supurb finish, 3 different thickness quivertips, nice action & very light. I thought it looked ideal for fishing our new club stretch of the river Frome & at £29 I thought it was a bargain. Went down the river today to try it out. Nice & sensitive & soon I had a few small roach, gudgeon & perch in the net. Then I hooked a small chub of about 1.5lb. Played the fish to the net where the fish made one final lunge & crack..... the rod snapped like it was made of straw On looking at the broken section of the blank, the reason for the rods lightness became clear. The blank walls are paper thin. If anyone is thinking of buying one of these.... I'd advise avoiding it like the plague....

have you thought about contacting Garbolino,they should replace it mate

Hoping the shop where I bought it yesterday will give me a refund. Don't really want to get involved with Garbolino as the postage wil be costly. Also I would have no confidence to use this model of rod again.

Most definately..... Actually the rod was hardly loaded when it snapped....
