What spinning reel should i buy??

Hi All,

I recently won a new spinning rod from an online comp via the Total Sea Fishing website.

Its a Quantum Energy Bass (270) spinning rod. I can't find much information about these rods on the internet and i was just wondering if its any good?

I would also be grateful for any recommendations for a new spinning reel to go with it?

Many Thanks
Chesil Chucker

Re: What spinning reel should i buy??

Hi,

I've just been looking into getting a new reel. I was looking at the Okuma Trio HS.

I am not into blingy reels, but after holding this reel in Chesil Bait N Tackle, I think its a well balanced reel, with a high speed retrieve.

It does depend on your budget.

Good luck on your search.

Re: What spinning reel should i buy??

Go for a Shimano every time. Even their budget end reels are good. I am not too keen on Okuma reels, with the exception of their centre pins. The drags on okuma reels tend to snag. Not a problem under normal circumstances, but if you have the fish of a life time on and you lose it through a bad drag, you wont ever see that fish again.
