Re: anyone rate this rod?

dragon carp is very cheap gear & after looking at a lot of their stuff at shows & 1 of their shops, you're better off spending more on a better known brand of rod.
they're ok for end tackle (feeders & bits & bobs like that) but not worth it for rods etc.
i got restarted with the £100 zebco carp kit from argos & then just replaced with better kit as i''ve gone.
another good thing to do is go to your local tackle shop & have a look & feel of the rods, reels etc, that way you'll know the action of the rods, balance, if you feel comfortable with it & get the advice of the staff.
i'm sure nick r will give you some good links

Re: anyone rate this rod?

firstly its a 4 tip rod and at 8 ft you ain't going to be fishing at distance ,
what is your budget , what type of fish are you going to target , do you require a reel as well

Re: anyone rate this rod?

thanks mate, now can someone tell me wether i want a waggler rod, match rod or feeder rod?

thinking im gonna be mainly going after some carp at the local ponds or maybe at woodlands just down the road.

also if i change my mind im sure a carp rod will be ok for the river wont it??

please dont mock my density, like i say im just getting back into it all!

Re: anyone rate this rod?

i believe them to be up to around 15lbs+

whats a waggler then? is that for float fishing??

alot of carp lads seem to have to rods at a time set up, is one a feeder?
why do they do the two rods?
