| name & praise forgive me if there is already a name & praise thread, but if not, then this is the prefect compliment to the name & shame thread ... here we can name & praise tackle shops & oher suppliers etc. 1, my local tackle shop, jack frost tackle, here in crawley, good range of stock, only complaint is their webiste doesn't apprear to have been updated with the new stuff the stock, but they told me this week that they are updating their website in the next couple of months. the service i've received from them has always been good, they're happy to open boxes & bags so you can look at & feel the products, have been able to deal with any in store queeries i've had regarding which rods etc in certain price ranges for lilman (brother-in-law) & very often will give discounts on larger items. good comprehensive range of baits & never bought a bad tub of maggotts. dspite buying a few bits at 'the big one' this weekend (purely as they were bargains), i get 99% of my end tackle, kit & baits from them, depending on larger kit, i have bought from them & other sources. they're quite knowledgable about local waters & angling in general. 2, fishtec, although initially signing up just to get the 2nd layer top & bottoms, i've relented & bought 2x carp rods, bait runners, line & sinking leaders & a few other little bits, but because they were on sale + my 10% members discount. did everything over the phone, the person taking my call was polite & despite ordering just before the big snow fall in january, everything arrived within a week, which i didn't think was too bad considering the weather & traffic conditions at the time. haven't managed to get out fishing this year yet, but will write reviews for the new kit i've recently got once i do get out on the water __________________ www.mobilespanner1.co.uk |

| Re: name & praise Exmouth Bait and Tackle. Owner Rob is always happy for a chat and ready to point people towards the fish. One thing I've noticed is that Rob treats the regulars and the tourists exactly the same. Cracking fresh bait too. Exeter Angling. Complete tackle shop. Covers everything from fly fishing to boat fishing. Ian (A member of this very forum!) did me a cracking deal recently on a few bits of gear. Friendly service and good info. Warning, you'll lose hours playing with the rods..... __________________ Right then, checklist: Rods. Check. Reels. Check. Speckled Hen. Check. Bait…… BAIT! Sh*t, where’s the bait? |

| Re: name & praise Steve in Steve's Tackle in Warminster is very good, keeps his maggots in very god condition. Also, and I think this is very praiseworthy, he knows to differentiate between what he knows to be a fact about a fishery, and gossip, which is often exaggearted. __________________ Ignore the margins at your peril |

| Re: name & praise Cullompton Carp and Coarse in the High St in.... guess where.....Cullompton! Excellent service, friendly knowledgeable staff, and for a small shop they have the most incredible range of baits. Their own make Red Devil boilies and pop-ups are awesome and have caught me a lot of fish. __________________ Pike Anglers Club of Great Britain, Region 13 Devon.
