| Daiwa Tournament Monofil - Sea Fishing Line Daiwa Tournament Monofil - I have been using this fishing line for about 6 months and have found it such a great line for shore fishing I have been using the 15lb / 0.35mm yellow and find it is great for casting and has a very low memory on both my fixed spool and multi reels If you have been using cheaper line and make the switch you will notice the difference Not much else I can say as it is only line but to me its worth paying the bit extra for a good quality line ( it retails for £9.00 +/- ) for 1000m Rating Quality 4/5 Price 3/5 Knot holding 4/5 Would I recommend It - Yes __________________ Richard|Sea Fishing |Carp Fishing| Spud Gun | Zander fishing | Fishing Reports | Hunting Reports Last edited by Fishing Forum Admin; 10-19-2004 at 01:19 PM. |

| Re: Daiwa Tournament Monofil - Sea Fishing Line I agree. I use it on 2 of my fixed spools and 1 of my multipliers. Does a really nice job! So I second your comments. __________________ Simon "4 Rods" TorbayFishing.Com - Beginners guide to sea fishing, news, reviews & more! |

| I agree, Have been using it a lot now because of Bristol Channel rough ground i use 20lb. Good knot strength etc. A bit pricey but worth the extra pennies! So I would reccommend it. One line I would also reccommend is Victor Veals mail order , i only use it for my shock leaders, in 60/80lbs its nice and supple, does not go heywire when on your spool and is very strong. Showed some to Simon 4 Rods at Brixham I think he liked it. __________________ Eventually all things merge into one, and a River runs through it. | Re: Daiwa Tournament Monofil - Sea Fishing Line sounds quite cheapo to me, often see alot more expencive 1s than that i ususaly use cheapest i can find which at the mo is fladen stuff which i brought in whitby for 75p for 500m so cant complain about the price and the line is fine, also use it for rig tying as well some times __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's |

I never use less than 80lb Suffix for rig-tying for beach-casting; would be different if fishing with a carp rod, of course. I think it's good line - but it is a little on the dear-side for "cooking" line. It's a nice colour (I like a bright one), and a bit more supple than something like "Red Ice", which I use quite a bit too. I'd definitely use it if I was doing any "serious" casting (perish the thought!). So, I too, concur with your review. Cheers Richard. |

| For my rigs bodies I use nothing but TUFF STUFF as it is a lot more supple than Suffix and..... it knots very well. I usually use nothing less than 80lb. But when I am casting 180 yards or more...... I usually wake up cos I dreamt it all! Or I might go down to 60lb if needed for flattie bashing. Its not a bad price either circa 3.99 for a spool. Lasts ages. __________________ Eventually all things merge into one, and a River runs through it. Old Smoothy |Shoot and fish .com |Fishing Holidays | Fly Fishing Tuition |
