Red face Greys GRX-S

As I managed to smash my favourite ABU Atlantic Zoom beachcaster at the Forum Smutt meet. I'm now in the market for a mid price general purpose beachcaster. I quite like the look of the 13' Greys GRX-S multiplier version. Has anyone got any opinions on this rod or got any suggestions for a good quality similar rod?

Re: Greys GRX-S

sorry m8, i aint familliar with greys products and not being much of a tackle tart don't know much about availiable rods from top manufacturers these days.

i've always been a big fan of diawa rods , and as such would go for a supercast sts 13 m or pm.
though a sandstorm would be nearer the price of the greys

there's a lot of choice out there atm with lots of products in this price range , it might be worth borrowing a few rods for a chuck about for comparison.

Re: Greys GRX-S

I had a good long look at the Greys rods when I was in the market. The GRX had mainly good reviews and they do feel nice in the shop, but I never had a really good play.

In the end I paid a little more money and got a pair of AFAW 6 & baits, but to be honest I think they're a little too stiff for me. You're more than welcome to have a play next time we meet up. I've also got a f/s sandstorm and a multi Greys Orion MKII at home you could have a go with if you want.

If I had the choice again, I'd maybe look at getting another Greys Orion MKII. Lovely rod.
