Enteprise tackle have made an exclusive range of imitation, baits including: luncheon meat, bread, casters, maggots, corn, pellets, glow in the dark corn, dog biscuits... most of these float, so can be used surface fishing or popped up when ledgering. I've used the corn, and caught a few carp on them, popped up 2 inches off the bottom, i've used the dog biscuits which i haven't actually caught on yet. They have a small weight in them to balance the bait properly, the idea is to hook opposite the weight, so your hook is on top of it so to speak, and then the hook isn't in the water so the carp can't see it. I've also used the bread which is brilliant, it stays on the hook even after you've hooked/played/landed the fish, i caught 5 different carp on the same piece and still have it, i would definitly reccomend them to anyone who wants to get them off the top... they're also supposed to be good for chub and mullet, gotta be worth a try. I bought the bread sat £1.95, with 4 big chunks that can be torn to make smaller bits, and the dog biscuits at £1.99 with 5 different biscuits. __________________ Dan `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ Big or small, look after them all! ¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º>

Re: Enterprise Tackle Imitation... cant imagine the luncheon meat being much good,it may stay on the hook a long time, but it wont have any meaty smell to it,thats the attraction of the real stuff is'nt it?,have you tried it dan ?

Re: Enterprise Tackle Imitation... no, haven't tried the meat, i don't really think that would work as well, but could be worth a go.. __________________ Dan `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ Big or small, look after them all! ¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º>

Re: Enterprise Tackle Imitation... it might need some sort of flavouring to spice it up,curry powder perhaps,i dont know whether a lump of plastic can absorb a flavour or not,but i agree its worth a try, whats next ?,plastic ragworm ? i wonder.

Re: Enterprise Tackle Imitation... dont know if anyone else is old enough to remember this, who remembers the artificial lugworm that was in the tackle shops in the seventies?, it was called "apothagel" i think,it smelt like s##t and the fish thought so too,i remember using it on a day when the pouting were crawling up the line and i didnt get a bite, i think artificial bait has come a long way since then
