Thumbs up River Cottage Fish Book

The River Cottage Fish Book by Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall & Nick Fisher of Screaming Reels fame.
I was lucky enough to get this book from my daughter for Christmas. It really is an excellent book. As well as Hugh's usual recipies, there's loads of stuff on environmentally friendly fishing, Commercial fishing & the common fisheries policy, how to catch & release fish unharmed, whats OK to keep & what should be returned, scaling & filleting, how to smoke fish & even how to build hot & cold smokers. It covers freshwater fish, sea fish & shellfish. There's even recipies for species that most people throw back including Pout, Dogfish, Scad & Garfish.
Definately 10/10

Re: River Cottage Fish Book

Sounds like a great book. Not sure about some of his recipes though. I remember him saying once that he cooked a Pike and the guy he fed it to said it was fantastic, but as soon as the cameras stopped filming he spat it out lol
