Ron Thompson " superior match " rod A lovely coarse fishing rod, I now use it for freelining and float fishing, but not for ledgering, it really isn't that sort of rod. I have caught quite a few carp on it now (biggest 11 1/2lb) and it copes so well, it has a fairly low test curve about 1 3/4lb, and bends double if you get a big fish on, but i believe it would take something really big to snap it, as it is a very strong rod! you can feel every movement from a fish, whether it's banging it's head or thrashing, i believe it helps you play fish, also good for lure fishing as you can feel the lure being worked across weed and other things, that you don't want to be fishing through! i certainly would recommend it for a beginners or advanced fishermens rod! PRICE- £20 USABILITY- 4/5 BUILD QUALITY- 4/5 OVERALL- 4/5

Re: Ron Thompson " superior match " rod Read your stuff on the Ron T Rod, not being overly flushed and a bit of a pauper (full time student) my rods are RTs never had a problem with them and have landed a few cracking carp at 25+ (more luck than skill) on the feeder version not the carp rods. Personaly Id recomend them to any one on a budget mine are great. ![]()

Re: Ron Thompson " superior match " rod Yeah, they are good rods. I still use my match rod for float fishing and surface fishing. ![]() __________________ Dan `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ Big or small, look after them all! ¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º>
