Re: 100 Greatest anglers I remember Alan Yates tellin me how to fish Blackpool some years ago. I had about 2doz and when I asked him to show me his catch he walked away in disgust (he blanked) Oh was I a happy bunny when I found out who he was.

Re: 100 Greatest anglers Just read a little book by Richard Walker 'how fish feed'......was written and published in the 50th, early 60th.....great info and explanations. Taught me a few things how to approach different species. Richard Walker use to write articles for the angling times and they were so impressed with it that they published the book. It shows how old the book is, cost 2 chillings and six pence __________________ There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind." - Washington Irving

Re: 100 Greatest anglers I still rate Dick Walker as the UK's greatest ever angler. He was a real thinking fisherman & the pioneer of many of the techniques we use today. Until he started regularily catching big carp, many people thought they were uncatchable. He also invented the Arlesley bomb ledger weight & many top trout flies. A true all round angler. __________________ One man's fish is another man's poissons http://www.deepsea.co.uk http://www.wildtrout.org
