Angry The Anti's Strike Again

For all you UK Fisherguys and gals take a look see at todays Daily Express page 10. Clarissa Dickson Wright is very eloquently defending our cause and making more people aware of it. Her article ,entitled 'Is Angling The Next Quarry' , has made me horribly aware of PETA and their disturbing agenda. Were any of you aware that they refer to fishing as 'the unknown blood sport' and that they have all manner of plots dreamed up to make life difficult for us all? These range from moving 'No Fishing' signs and reporting any anglers to the authorities to posting photos of anglers in local librarys as criminals. This organisation has £30 million dedicated solely to banning fishing over the next few years but no set strategm or budgest regarding shooting. Distressing to say the least.

Re: The Anti's Strike Again

guess its been on the cards since the hunting ban that anglers were next, just hope they dont get themselves into gear too soon, if thay do try this it will be a very long, slow and fruitless fight for them
cannot see how fishing can ever be banned, in the same way as a sea rod licence is unworkable, but as you say cauld make things ugly for a bit

Re: The Anti's Strike Again

These 'anti's' are so negative.

It's about time the 'anti's' learnt how to enjoy themselves without trying to destroy other peoples pleasure. Actually, I think they must be selfish ars*holes trying enforce we do things their way.

I'm afraid this country quite often appears to be ruled by the loudest shouting minority rather than the silent majority - supposedly represented by our voted MP's.

So make sure your voice is heard, at every opportunity; in favour of our sport.

Ditto Richard........I'm already aware that we are not only next on the list but have been in their sights for quite some time.

I already take note of those who are walking around me when fishing.....not so much when there’s a few of us but more like when my kids are with me. I remember reading in the Sea Angler last year about kids fishing on their own getting chucked in the water and suchlike and for people to be vigilant. This problem with the anti's is real and it is set to become worse.

It never ceases to amaze me how these ar**holes consider the life of a fish over that of a child!!

All I will say is this......I take a very sharp knife with me fishing and if I feel threatened, well, it could be the first thing I grab hold of to 'defend myself' and make no mistake we would need to do just that, after all these people dig up human remains and think that it's ok to do so!!

I tell ya another thing....it's about time the tables were turned on these law breakers.........let me attam.........let me attam.

I hope this doesn’t get edited.

Hot and ......Kiwi.

we could be ruling them in 3 months and shut them down in 6

tomorow PETA ,next week the world, the week after decorate the kitchen

nope thats just too much
