Another sad day for the angling community. It would appear that Bennetts of Sheffield, one of the biggest names in angling retail, have gone into receivership. I'm sure many others like myself will miss this shop. I still fondly remember buying my first mail order rod from them & paying the monthly installments at my village post office (Sadly another thing facing extinction)

i have had 2 emails this week
one was a megga sale

the other was dont bother from the administrators

Likewise ,bought an ABU 10,000 reel and payed over 6 months on a book at the bank ,no credit checks those days just trust .A sad day for anglers everywhere,even sadder for the owners tho.

Its happening every where ,a sign of the times ,people want value for money ,they were well overpriced
which did not help.

wish i had got this type of sympathy when i had to close down my company putting nearly 20 people on the dole
