| Fisheries Chief to visit Peterhead Fisheries Chief to visit Peterhead grampian tv - Aberdeen,Scotland,UK Europe’s new Fisheries Commissioner will make his first official visit to Scotland this weekend, it’s emerged. Commissioner Joe Borg will meet tomorrow with fishing industry figures and stakeholders in north east fishing in the final stage of his UK visit. Accompanied by environment minister Ross Finnie, Mr Borg will receive a tour of Peterhead harbour and visit the Scottish Fisheries Protection Agency vessel Norna. He will then be shown around the shipyards in Macduff before touring a pelagic vessel and visiting a fish processing factory in Fraserburgh. Speaking today, Mr Borg said he was keen to hear the concerns of those involved in the industry: “Fishing is very important to many UK coastal areas and this is why I wanted to come and see for myself the various industries involved,” he said. “I also want to encourage UK fishermen to engage in dialogue with the Commission.
