Fishing ban is ‘Draconian’

PROPOSALS for no-go fishing zones in the North Sea were attacked yesterday as “Draconian” by Scottish fishermen’s leaders.

Hamish Morrison, the chief executive of the Scottish Fishermen’s Federation, said he hoped the new commissioner at the European Fisheries Council, Joe Borg, would look on the plight of fishermen in Scotland more favourably than his predecessor, Franz Fischler.

Many of the quotas for 2005 have been agreed, but Mr Morrison said: “The main proposals … are Draconian.

Short sighted, only intrested in now, they've already raped the fish stocks,
thier own catches tell them that.

If there's to be a future in fishing they must accept the bans.

While we the anglers are faced with paying more money to fish!
