Angry Hunt Sabboteurs & Lush

High Street Cosmetics Firm Lush have publicly announced that they are helping to fund the Hunt Sabboteurs Association. These people also have an anti-angling agenda & are believed to be responsible for recent assults on fishermen.
Take a look at this link..... https://www.lush.co.uk/index.php
Think carefully before buying your Christmas pressies there.......

Re: Hunt Sabboteurs & Lush

Unfortunately there are millions of reasons for being against anything in life, just because you don't think they are good reasons doesn't mean someone else would feel passionately about them. This ranges from peeps complaining about too many learner drivers in the street & putting up signs, to others dropping planes out of the sky because they don't like coca cola.
I see a lot more of the pretty red furry foxes around now - they must be becoming more domesticated as I live in a town rather than the country. The only ones I see in the country are when travelling to & from fishing. They are a bit sillier than their town cousins because they are trying to hide on the road. Red/Russet brown isn't much of a camouflage when lying flat on the tarmac. I find the black & white badgers far harder to spot.

Re: Hunt Sabboteurs & Lush

I've no time for foxes, or for that matter fox hunting, more of a social event for people with money to waste and want to be seen.
Having grown up on a farm/large small holding self sufficient I have a zero toerlance for foxes, but to chase them about is pointless.
Fox problem, use a rifle, very quick, no un needed stress on the animal, which is vermin.

Re: Hunt Sabboteurs & Lush

In my experiennce, hunt sabs are about anarchy, using animal suffering as an excuse.
When I was a student, I asked an activist, (once she was full of gin), what got her into the movement,it transpired she was from the monied background, but had been rebuked, by a toffee chap, (she was abit of a minger in my opinion), and her anger at this got her into protest, others see it as a form of class warfare.
Students at the art college I went to had a strong empathy, (well they were art students man), usual steroetypes here, we oftehn out and about with video camera's, trying to get vox pops in the street, but were only interested in people who agreed with them. No such thing as objective reasoning.
Now if I was in charge........

Re: Hunt Sabboteurs & Lush

I see the hunt sabs are backing calls for the recent Trent fish kill perps to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law plus constantly lobbying to preserve the river and wetland environment. Oh sorry that would be the Angling trust now wouldn't it. Fullcreel hits the nail right on the head. These people are on the whole deluded and just looking for a cause. Doubt it was one of them that rings the EA when fish are distressed, nope that's us again.

Re: Hunt Sabboteurs & Lush

I think it was David Bellemy who described anglers as they eyes of the environment. We are essentailly a force of observers, now most have mobile phones on us, and most (with liscences) have a hotline number to call in case of pollution, I wonder if the anti brigade will ever get so organised?

Re: Hunt Sabboteurs & Lush

They will be too busy picketting the dog tracks or zoos to worry about the fishwishies IF angling gets made illegal

Re: Hunt Sabboteurs & Lush

Good point about David Bellamy. He is in one of the recent caravan and camping magazines as they did an article on campsites with fishing. He was very pro-angling because of exactly the points just mentioned.

David Bellamy is "along with myself" one of the Founder members of the Wild Trout Trust. A cause about which he is very passionate....
