Invisible Lead Fishing Weight

Hi All,

Im new to this forum, but not fishing. I recieve a monthly edition of IYCF and I cannot believe what I have seen. A 100% invisible lead fishing weight. When placed in water, you can't see it. The review says that it is the best thing since sliced bread, and shows some pretty impressive underwater pictures. I want to know if anybody else has seen or tried these Diamond Weights? If it works as good as they say it does, then it can only help me catch more fish than you!!
I could do with all the help I could get at the moment LOL.
Seriously... if anyone has tried this, could they please let me know how good they are?

Thanks

Aimee

P.S

I posted this on another forum, there was a good discussion going, but for some reason the mods feel that they need to "review" the post....

Re: Invisible Lead Fishing Weight

I have not tried one yet but visit the site www.diamondweights.com there is a video also showing you how they look (or don't) under water.
They look pretty good and being a "tackle tart" I'm sure I will be investing in a couple!

Re: Invisible Lead Fishing Weight

interesting concept , but i recon that leads , invisable or otherwise , generally get ignored by sea fish, and i think they'd take more notice of any electro- magnetic feilds they may generate,
there's enough bits of metal scattered arround the coasts besides leads on rigs that are in use and so i recon ,though i dont know fer sure, that fish would take little notice of another bit of metal in their environs.

just wondering if there's any scientific research on this, flounders used to be caught with lead weights plus wide metal spreader booms, so i'd guess it didn't put them off.

Re: Invisible Lead Fishing Weight

Think they are a complete waste of money for sea angling as sea fish do not care as for freshwater your safty zone is the best thing you can do as say carp will be spooked by hitting the line

Re: Invisible Lead Fishing Weight

I wonder if all these "clever" bits of tackle are really just designed to catch anglers not fish.

I have used different types of weight ( standard metal, coated types and stones with a swivel in) and don't seem to have noticed any difference in the fishing performance.

A method feeder has got to be the most obvious artificial and visible thing for fish, but it was designed to attract fish!

I believe that the line being felt by fish is a greater deterrent to fish taking bait, knocking a fin against the taut mainline is going to bring a reaction to flee for most fish.

The electro magnetic fields theory is proven in some of the shark families but then if the weight disturbs a magnetic field then so would the swivel, hook and loop of metal in this invisible weight.

I feel that if you honestly think it improves your fishing then it will, fishing with confidence in your tackle, your chosen spot on the lake bed and your bait is the best way to catch, if you have doubts then this fiddling and recasting that some anglers do will spook fish.

Get a setup you like, chuck it in the lake where the fish are and leave it until that PB comes along and takes the bait.

Moderators often "review" posts if blatant advertising is taking place or endorsements are being made in what is a public forum, if your thread was seen to be pushing a product then it may have been stopped.

I use these forums for an honest users opinion, a bit of social chat and to gain knowledge. If I wanted a product sold to me then I would buy the fishing press publications, all of which live by advertising and I have never seen a bad review of anything sold in these rags ( is that commercial bias )!

So Aimee, welcome to the forum (the most friendly and sociable one I have found), how about some details on what you have been fishing for, a few photos of some catches and venues, even a few tips and comment on some of the reports we write,.

Mike

Re: Invisible Lead Fishing Weight

Just looked at the website & video for the product. It just looks like a peice of crystal or glass to me. Probably good for spooky fish like Carp on stillwaters. But if it's not as dense as lead, will it be any good on fast water when fishing for spooky Barbel etc. Maybe it's Lead Crystal... LOL

absolutely spot on mike, confidence is something i believe in,if you are not confident in what you are doing or the bait you are using or the tackle you are using you will often fail to catch,it is for that reason i still use tried and tested methods in my fishing that i have used for donkeys years.

Re: Invisible Lead Fishing Weight

An invisible lead could be good for mullet fishing in clear water.

Have fished and won a match before using Luminous Leads on my trace. Was fishing off Worthing Pier in darkness and was catching flounders off all sizes quicker than people who werent. Was simply shining my tiga for at the lead for about 20 seconds before i cast out. Tried it again on the beach but the paint on the leads falls off when you reel in over stones.

Everythings worth trying
