Re: Sea Fishing Licences

Kev, and were the Fens not stocked with fish?
Zander are certainly not an original fenland fish are they?
Also the money you pay goes towards cleaning up pollution spills etc and other waterway improvements.

Mate if you think i m going to pay to catch pouting

its my opinion and i think sea angler should pay 4 times as much as coarse anglers as there waters are much bigger and contain many different species so on that i think the sea fishing close season should be extended from april to august

i,m still for the introduction of a licence though
wind up or not, you have proved the sea angler will not accept it.

Re: Sea Fishing Licences

How can you say a sea licences is justified when jim bob can put a gill net in a river mouth and kill a hell of alot of fish many being undersized. The most sensible thing to do is stop all foreign boats fishing in our waters and set certain ares of the sea that cannot be trawled or netted. Also a limit as to how far they can come inside. Maybe even a ban on fish such as bass being tsken from estries from rod anglers where they breed. Are fish stocks are the worst managed because the goverment are weak and wont stand up for the people they always look at how they can exploit the uk and its people.

Also what would a sea angler get back from a licences??: nothing is the answer!! The goverment need to look at the main problem which is gill netters and how much dead fish go back in the sea because a boat has gone over its quota!

I would never pay for a sea licence as its not practical. I dont mind paying for a fresh water licence as the mony goes into restocking rivers and building new lake and bringing youngsters into the fishing life. I mean how many times have you blanked fishing the sea compared to the fresh water? The goverment needs to get real!!!

Re: Sea Fishing Licences

Initially, when I read about it in the paper this morning I was against it,on refllection,I am for it, on certain conditions,it is run by people who know about this recreation,i.e.all levels of sea fishing, and it has nothing to do with any goverment departement or political party, and all monies do go back into this great sport, otherwise forget about it.
