roach or rudd

i went fishing on the local canal yesterday and caught a fair size fish on caster but mot sure if a roach or rudd as i thought rudd only lived in rivers
could someone please tell me what kind it is think its too light colored for rudd but not 100 percent sure thanks

It looks like a nice roach to me , as a rudd is more golden in colour and thier fins are bright red
