groundbait

i am in the enviable position of having a large amount of waste bread at my disposal, does anyone know the method used to convert this into the common or garden crumb groundbait we all buy from our tackle shops

groundbait makeing groundbait up

Ground bait - Well if I remember right you need to let the bread go stale (dried out)

Then use a blender (the wife's) and grind it down very fine

You can mix it with maze or a good quality shop bought groundbait. Or in your bowl of water add some extract i.e blood worm and then add your groundbait mixture

Re: groundbait

this is wot i do!
you will need:
a blender, bread, pellets, salt, paperika and any old ground bait or flavoring

i put the bread either inthe microwave in a bag or in the toaster depending on how strong the blender is if not very strong use microwave blend it up as fine as u can then sive it throw into a bowl then the lumps you put back in blender and so on then ido the same with some old pellets then mix it all up and put about a level tea spoon of salt in and alot of paperika and any essance like worm exract which can be picked up in a local tackle shop mix it all up and if doesnt hold togher properly keep adding water untill it does not to much because u will not be able to store it it will last a few weeks longer when frozen.

not bad to say im only 14 but been fishing since 6 hope this comes in handy for u

Re: groundbait

groundbaiting is great and i know a lot of fisherman who go totaly nuts with their groundbait mixes here is one a good mate of mine uses

breadcrumbs.
mixed bird seed
hemp seed
lentils
fish food pellets
fish food flakes
instant mash
spaghetti
salt
sugar
and any brand name mixes he can get his hands on

maybe its overkill i dunno. blend all the ingr until they are a powder and stores it until the fishing trip then he puts in a few tins of sweetcorn and a couple of large shots of ribena. it does work lol
