Forum Meetings

I have seen talk on here of having a forum meet. but it seemed to fizzle out when it came to fixing a date. Well how about a targetted meeting.

For instance why not arrange a trip up to Kevin's stomping grounds and try for a Zander, alot of the forum are in the species hunt and it would be good points, and we could all learn a bit too, and it is a dedicated time to meet forum members and do some serious targetted fishing.

I am sure we could all find a local venue that offers something in particular, like a pike water, or some good river carp, a stretch of barbel water.

Anyone up for it?

Mike

Re: Forum Meetings

I'd be up for it, need plenty of time though in my case to make sure I'm not working. Also I'm saving up for a certain French Trip in May

Thumbs up Re: Forum Meetings

I'm always up for a meet with other Forum members Mike, but it's always difficult to arrange a meet that allows for everyones work commitments, Family commitments, finances, tides & Weather etc as we found out on the Sidmouth Trip & last summers Smutt meet at Selsey. Having said that. Due to a job change, I now have a lot more weekends off & am looking forward to attending a few more Forum meets. Providing Pingu remembers to bring the Pies.....

Re: Forum Meetings

thanks mike for wanting to come up to the fens it possible but let me make you aware how difficult is can be but nothing is impossible .
total agree i like forum sea meets cause you do meet other like minded anglers who our very dedicated indeed and a great social is had by all and the actual catching of fish becomes second place to the time spent with the other forum chaps
i would love to have a meet up my neck of the woods but unlike sea fishing where coarse fishing is concerned there are normally extra charges incurred such as day tickets or like the fen club member ships IE : KLAA £34 .but that's normally would not be to much of a problem especially when you weigh it up the average day ticket price now is around £15 to £20 so all in all club member ship is really cheap .
maybe we could look into it but as again what other have said organising a trip can be difficult at best especially trying to get a time when every one can attend and a appropriate water to accommodate all the masses of anglers who would come to try and catch such a magnificent of coarse species the zander.
now another factor that cancause problem is the weather now i don,t mind what i fish in but the fens are flat and the weather especially the wind can make the fens a virtually unfisheble place because of the way the drains funnel the wind down them and another problem can be on alot of drains the banks them selfs are very steep indeed but however there are some places that do have flatter ground to fish from a prime example is the cut off channel between the A10 bridge at hilgay to fordham bridge

as you will indeed agree it looks a beautiful place indeed its up to other whether they would like to come up and also whether i can get bank space booked so there would be no problems
and again as greenheart has also mentioned it could all go belly up if pingu does firstly not attend or worse he forgets the pies .

tightlines
kevin
